Welcome to Jelena Design Studio, my design curation platform. I’m Jelena Alavanja, an architectural and interior designer, blogger and design consultant based in Sydney, Australia. I have over 10 years of experience in the design industry in both residential and commercial sectors, and hold a Bachelor of Design in Architecture, Master of Architecture and Diploma of Interior Design.

This blog began as my passion project in 2015, whilst I was completing my university studies as part of a Social Media and Marketing assessment. I created my blog and Instagram thinking it would just be purely for that assessment. I posted projects and products which inspired my work at the time, and before I knew it, I was getting a rapid following. Readers started resonating with my posts and I fell in love (and was sort of obsessed) with writing about projects and posting inspirational décor images. Today, it has over 65,000 followers on Instagram and has gained an international following.  

Jelena Design Studio is your go-to design curation platform, and I want all of my readers to feel inspired, stay notified and updated in all aspects of design. Whether you are undertaking a home renovation and unsure which floor tile to go with, are a supplier or brand and would like readers to be notified on new products, or simply love reading about the latest trends in styling, I want this to be the platform for you.  

My passion comes from giving my readers the knowledge, inspiration and ideas on making their homes as effortless, sophisticated and refined as possible, no matter their budget or constraints. I am continually inspired by the design world, and especially by my favourite city – New York. With a refined and sophisticated design curation style and strong knowledge of all things design, I hope this platform is a fun place for all where you can scroll for hours endlessly.
